These are the pillars of the 5th Mahoning Valley Warrior event, set to take place on June 1, 2024, at the Canfield Fairgrounds. As the largest annual gathering of autism families and service providers in the region, this event is a testament to the strength, unity, and determination of the autism community.
Our event serves as a beacon of support for Autism families while showcasing the physical toughness of NE Ohio and Western Pennsylvania athletes. We bring together a diverse range of participants, including Mahoning Valley families, businesses, and service providers who champion the cause. It also hosts the largest Special Needs Resource Fair in the Valley.
Founded in 1989, the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley has been steadfast in its mission to create connections that empower the autism community with the necessary resources to lead fulfilling lives. With autism prevalence now affecting one in 36 children, our commitment to providing essential programs and resources to Mahoning Valley families remains unwavering.
In 2023 alone, we increased our community participation, responded to innumerable support calls and emails, and hosted over 50 events. As we continue to grow, focusing on expanding programs for teens and young adults, the costs associated with maintaining our quality programming have reached at least $75,000 annually.
